19 of Medvedev's 21 titles have been achieved on hard courts
A resurgent Daniil Medvedev claimed his initial championship for 882 days with success over opponent Moutet in the Almaty Open championship match.
Medvedev, a ex- world number one, has had a challenging period, achieving just a single victory at the big events and experiencing a difficult moment at the US Open.
Medvedev's varied form on the ATP Tour - and issues with his serving in specific - resulted in him dropping out of the top ten and finally separating with long-time mentor his previous coach.
Currently collaborating with Johansson and Goetzke, Medvedev has steadily progressed in the recent weeks - culminating in a hard-fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 victory over opponent Corentin Moutet.
This represents the player's maiden title after the 2023 Rome Masters and initial on a hard surface after that period of that year.
The win also signifies the Russian has won 21 championships at twenty-one various tournaments.
"It's the first time I'm at a competition with my both daughters at once, so to win a championship is really nice," said tennis professional the champion.
"This victory is in honour of my child her name, because the initial championship I won when my child her name was born was for her."
Medvedev, the former major winner, had failed in his past six finals, including in Halle previously this season.
Medvedev's retrieving strategy and recurring emotional displays on the tennis court had caused some to question if his skill to perform at the elite level was finished.
But the athlete has made changes in the past month, attempting to come to the net and compete positively, supported by an enhanced serving game.
He recovered from a disadvantage in the initial set against the challenging opponent, winning four of the last five exchanges to go ahead.
Both players traded break points in the second set before Moutet, bidding for his maiden tour championship, gained dominance to create a decider.
Moutet saved four initial break points in a tight third set before the Russian broke to that score to secure the win.
Fittingly, he secured the win with a point at the net area, with his opponent unable to manage a return after over two and a half hours.
